Laptop LCD Replacement
Fractured LCD screen? No problem. Order the replacement part and get your bamboo pry tool and small driver set ready.
First, remove the laptop battery. Then remove the rubber pads from the LCD bezel covering the small screws in the corners. Remove the screws. Start gently prying around the bezel with a non marking tool. Double sided tape is usually also applied between the plastic bezel and the attached LCD lid cover. Take extra time and care separating this LCD sandwich as the bezels have several small plastic clips that break easily.

Continue dis-assembly by removing screws along the vertical metal edge of the LCD where it is connected to the (hopefully) metal hinge frame of the lid cover. At this point you should only need to unplug a connector and remove the LCD panel. Tape usually secures the connector to a plastic sheet or bracket. Be sure to re-apply new tape during installation of the new replacement LCD panel. Once everything is connected and secured in place it is wise to make a quick test run of the new screen and back light before tightening everything up and snapping the bezel back in place. This way if something is wrong you do not spend time repeating yourself.
